Surely almost no one thought LEEK701Xs 79,6 million score on Ridge Riot/8 will get beaten today, but then again, everything is possible. And it is not really a surprise that just Crashfreak went and beat his score. He even beat the over 18 years old 89,7 million World Record from VIRTUALCHAOSFREAK and got 99,1 million! The video was the 2nd oldest one on the "Best Vids" list and overall it was the 3rd oldest WR! On the Top-25 Crashfreak climbed from 3rd onto the top spot (previous PR 74,6mil) and it is currently the 12th World Record he is holding! He also retook the best Gamecube 60hz video, which he lost just hours before to LEEK701X (see previous news). On the Totals he beat the 7,8 billion mark. So still the 100 million mark on Ridge Riot/8 wasn't beaten today, it is the last zone missing a 3 digit score. And just a reminder from back in the days someone on the IGN boards mentioned such a score in 2003. Just check the link below. That's it for now, see you surely soon on the next news.

    Nevermind what happens the rest of July, the "Crashing-the-date" month is already a full success. Not only cause being the biggest of its kind, but also cause of the scores and PRs which happened already. LEEK701X got today 79,6 million on Ridge Riot/8 and climbed from 7th onto the 2nd spot (previous PR 57,3mil)! He also beat the 3 years and 8 months old best Gamecube 60hz video for that zone, which was a 74,2 million score from Crashfreak before. LEEK701X continues his good run he is on since a few weeks and is now only 19 million away to beat the 6 billion mark on the Totals.

    Since June 2004 a place for the best available Crash Mode videos for Burnout 2: Point of Impact exists, but there never was one for the other Crash Modes on Burnout 3: Takedown or Burnout Revenge/Burnout Revenge 360, also, cause there were not many videos around with good scores. This changed within the last 2 years and a few Crashers went and got top scores recorded for almost all junctions. I've collected those videos in a playlist on Youtube, which contains the best score recorded for each junction.     Wave got 175,9 million on Dip Disaster/6 (previous PR 165,9mil) which was only his 2nd PR in the last 6 years.
  • Video Zone 6 - 175,9 million
    • Also nikcolin registered another 3 PRs for this month already, on 2 of those there were missing PRs in the WCR database. On Down Hill Demolition/1 he got 89,6 million, on Rattlesnake Row/5 183,0 million (shown in vids Top-5) and on Dip Disaster/6 he improved to 133,9 million (previous PR 52,2mil). On the Totals he beat the 2,5 billion mark still missing PRs for 11 zones.

    There is another news update for today. LEEK701X got 381,1 million on Rattlesnake Row/5 and improved his PR from just 2 weeks ago again, but unfortunately it is only a 1 million better PR than last time and he remains on the 3rd spot (previous PR 380,1mil). This was also his 5th 300 million score (381-380-346-321-308) at this zone within just 2 weeks and another time he got very close to the World Record (388,5mil).

    Monster scores update! And the "Crashing-the-date" month truly delivers and brings one of the biggest moments in almost 20 years of crashing on Burnout 2 Crash Mode! Crashfreak got a unbelievable 902,0 million glitch on Out of Control Tower/3 and beat the 16 years old best video for that zone by 182 million (720,6mil/Brainkiller007). It is also the biggest crash ever recorded on video (of course without sink- or barrier-glitches)! On the Top-25 he climbed from 3rd onto 2nd place (previous PR 679,0mil) and he also beat his own 4 and a half years old best Gamecube 60hz video for that zone (657,3mil). On the Totals Crashfreak hit another milestone adding 223 million to his total and jumping over the 7,6 and 7,7 billion mark coming even close to the 7,8 billion mark! With a total of $7,797,572,304 he is now only missing 3 million. Congrats again for that big moment Crashfreak!

    • And this is not all the news for today. CoastalCrusher got 378,7 million on, guess it, Coastal Crush/2. This is another huge score and if you take a look onto the Top-25, another score today which came close to the current World Record! On the top-25 he climbed from 7th onto the 2nd place (previous PR 288,2mil). It is currently his 5th Top-3 spot. On the Totals he beat the 6,3 billion mark.

    And we got another PR today on Coastal Crush/2. Mkrawnis got 259,0 million and entered the Top-25 on 12th place (previous PR 193,1mil). It was even his last missing zone without a Top-25 spot. And on the Totals he entered now the club of the Crashers which beat the 5 billion mark ($5,005,078,538), being the 9th one to beat that barrier, congrats on that.

    So there are already the first PRs coming in done during the "Crashing-the-date" ritual. Nikcolin got a good 261,1 million score on Coastal Crush/2 and climbed from 20th onto the 9th spot (previous PR 216,7mil). On the Overall Rankings he climbed from #17 to #16 and on the Totals he beat the 2,2 billion mark, still missing PRs for 13 zones.

    • Assassin Sports improved his PR on Down Hill Demolition/1 from 159,6 million to 166,6 million, but unfortunately didn't move a spot still being ranked on the 22nd position. And right now there is even a very fresh score coming in. On Coastal Crush/2 he got 228,3 million but missed his PR for 0,6 million only.

    • And for the "Crashing-the-date" month even 3 more Crashers joined, so right now the number of Crashers taking part is at 11! LarviStar, Taco and Wave are going to participate too. Just for info, LarviStar and Taco (both are going to play on Emulator for that month) don't have a score added on the WCR yet, and are "new" to the website, so welcome. Wave won't be available for the whole month, as he will be off for a week or so. That's it for now.
