And another PR from the Crash-off Event on Sprint Smash/17. Brainkiller007 got 241,4 million and beat his PR from 6 days ago by a little, but it was enough to climb a spot on the Top-25 from 6th onto 5th place (previous PR 237,2mil). He also beat the 15 months old best Gamecube 60hz video by 13,3 million (228,1mil/Brainkiller007).

    LarviStar improved his PR on Sprint Smash/17 for a third and fourth time during the ongoing Crash-off Event and this time it was enough to enter the Top-25. After first getting 167,9 he got 192,9 million and took the 24th spot (previous PR 163,1mil). 2 days after that score he was even able to improve that PR for a fifth time and got 197,5 million climbing 5 spots from then the 25th to 20th spot. It was already his 10th Zone being ranked within the Top-25 and on the Overall Rankings he climbed from #22 to #21.

    Another PR for Mr. Vette today. On Twilight Turmoil/25 he got 183,7 million and entered the Top-25 on the 5th spot. There even was a score missing for him in the database for that zone, but now he got a score submitted for each zone. He even beat the 8 year old best Gamecube 50hz video for that zone, which was a 163,1 million score before (Brainkiller007). On the Totals this was of course a very nice push for him, putting him in the range of beating the 5 billion mark soon! Current Total is at $4,941,970,812.

    And the rain of pretty good scores on Sprint Smash/17, which started on the weekend with 2 PRs over 230 million, continues! Just for your info, on Saturday night also Crashfreak got a 243,1 million score, which wasn't a PR for him, but at least the 7th best score, which ever happened on Sprint Smash/17. And last night another 2 scores over the 230 million mark happened, which now have been beaten already 5 times during the Crash-off Event! CoastalCrusher got 239,4 million and climbed from 13th onto the 5th spot (previous PR 206,6mil). It was his 3rd PR in 2024. On the Overall Ranking he took back the 4th spot, which he lost in May.

    • Mr. Vette got 230,1 million and entered the Top-25 on the 7th spot (previous PR 133,6mil). I've just relalized i missed to add his last PR, which he got 2 weeks ago, so here is that news belated. This is currently his 10th Zone being ranked within the Top-10 spots. On the Overall Rankings he climbed into the Top-10 from #11 to #10 and on the Totals he beat the 4,7 billion mark!

    • And another PR. AutisticSpeedsterGTR3 got his 6th score for the database. On Ballistic Beach/15 he got 65,4 million non-glitch using the Custom SUV.

    And another top score on Sprint Smash/17 today! Brainkiller007 got 237,2 million, which unfortunately was only a 0,9 million improvement to his previous PR and remains on the 5th spot (previous PR 236,3mil). But he beat the almost 7 years old best Xbox 50hz video from Crashfreak by 15,7 million (221,5mil).

    • Also LarviStar got a tiny improvement on Sprint Smash/17 from 162,8 to 163,1 million, still 25 million short for the Top-25.

    • And AutisticSpeedsterGTR3 got his 5th score for the WCR. On Rattlesnake Row/5 he got 104,7 million using the Hot Rod non-glitch strat.

    On the 8th day of the ongoing Crash-off Event on Sprint Smash/17 it finally happened. The first score above 200 millon and even the one, which beats our overall goal of getting at least 1 score above the 230 million mark. LEEK701X got 246,5 million and climbed 1 spot on the Top-25 from 5th onto the 4th place (previous PR 232,3mil). Overall it is the 5th best score which ever happened on Zone 17, and the 4th best ever being recorded, and the 6th time someone beat the 14 million damage mark.

    AutisticSpeedsterGTR3 got 2 new PRs. On Down Hill Demolition/1 he got 41,8 million using the Custom Muscle with the non-glitch strat and on Late Arrival/11 he got 30,5 million using the Compact. Both scores were done again on the Ps2 using 60hz.

    First PR from the currently ongoing Crash-off event. LarviStar got 162,8 million on Sprint Smash/17 (previous PR 112,8mil) and beat the 3,7 billion mark on the Totals.

    • AutisticSpeedsterGTR3 got his 2nd PR on Out of Control Tower/3 with 93,0 million. Unfortunately he is limited to crash on the Ps2 and 60hz.

    This Saturday the 15 days lasting Olympic Crash-off Event on Sprint Smash/17 is starting. You can join whenever you want, crash how much you want, it doesn't matter if you participate 1, 3 or 15 days, just fill in your name on the below linked Spreadsheet. For everyone not participating you can check that sheet for new scores and current standings. On this news release 3 ways of executing the Trailer-strat will be described, so that everyone have an inspiration or idea for using the Trailer-strat. Method 1 used by nikcolin, who currently holds the best video for that zone: Turbostart and quickly switch into 3rd gear without boost and then use a driving path like showed on the video. This method is optimized for being used on Gamecube 50hz. By the way on his 268,1 million score he actually used Runaway switching into the 2nd gear.
  • Video - Strat Example 1
    • Method 2 used by Brainkiller007 on 60hz: Custom Roadster MT no boost, wait till timer is on 1, then smoke the wheels, switch quickly, but not too fast into 4th gear. On the first turn go close to the rail (white road marking), then close to the SUV (yellow road marking) and then again close to rail (white road marking), in short white-yellow-white road marking. You should crash the trailer right when the small red car is behind making it slide. You have to work out a more detailed timing by yourself and how to crash the truck exactly.
  • Video - Strat Example 2
    • Method 3 by Mr. Vette just found last week: Spin tires at or around 1 so your RPM's are at max when starting. Shift up twice into 3rd gear and stay there. Cut corners as close as possible, either slam into side of trailer or drift into it.

    • Just a note in general where to crash the Flatbed. I am not entirely sure what's the best spot to crash into, close to the cab or closer to the middle of the trailer like for example nikcolin does. On my method it can happen that you actually don't even activate the trailer, but as it seems the advantage of this strat is actually the more time towards the end of the crash for the busspins and kicked traffic creating damage. Also the Flatbeds trailer just creates 15k of damage versus 20k on a Trucks cab.
