No one would have thought, that during the "Crashing-the-date" month someone will get a new World Record on Hairpin Havoc/10 on the 11th July, but it happened.
Jokes aside, there really is a new World Record for Hairpin Havoc/10, again!
Barely 1 day has passed and CoastalCrusher was able not only to beat his PR again, but to beat the yesterdays 126,9 million World Record from LEEK701X. He got a really good 132,8 million score and climbed from 4th onto 1st place (previous PR 114,2mil). It is currently the 2nd World Record he is holding and the 3rd PR he got this month.

  • Video Zone 10 - 132,8 million

    • There also happened 3 other PRs on Late Arrival/11 yesterday.
    MKrawnis got a already good 133,4 million score and climbed 2 spots from 19th onto 17th place (previous PR 129,8mil). It was his 2nd PR this month.

    • LEEK701X got a very good 158,5 million score also climbing 2 spots from 10th onto 8th place (previous PR 153,5mil). It was already the 4th zone he improved his PR this month!

    • Sparker599 got 65,4 million using a 17 multi strat (previous PR 63,1mil). It also was his 2nd PR this month.

    • Now this have been a hell of a "Crashing-the-date" month so far. All in all three World Records happened (Zone 8 and two times Zone 10), all within the last three days. If you count Leeks 118 million score on Hairpin Havoc/11 too, there were four 2nd spots (Zone 2,3,8,10), and another 3rd spot score happened on Zone 5! Not even mentioning some other good scores. The next news release sure won't take much time, see you soon.

    Assassin Sports got 71,2 million on Hairpin Havoc/10 and entered the Top-25 on the 21st spot (previous PR 65,3mil). Already before he was able to improve his PR 2 times with two 68,8 million scores.
    On the Overall Rankings he climbed from #26 to #25.

    • I finally received a scroll-through video of nikcolins Top-5 and added all his missing PRs. On Surf Shocker/21 there was a 95,2 million which made him climb 1 spot from 24th onto 23rd place (previous PR 93,7mil). On Heights Horror/27 he missed the Top-25 for 1,1 million only. You can check all his PRs either on his WCR profile or on the Top-5 scroll through video, both linked below.
    With all the missing PRs his total stands currently at $3,814,749,338. See you on the next news, which will be released later this evening.

    New World Record on Hairpin Havoc/10!
    LEEK701X got 126,9 million and beat the 2 years old World Record from Crashfreak by 1,1 million (125,8mil)! All in all LEEK701X was able to improve his PR on Hairpin Havoc/10 4 times today! First he got 99,4 million, then 105,1 million, then 118,8 million, which was already worth a 2nd place, and finally the WR. On the Top-25 he climbed from 7th place onto the top spot (previous PR 99,0mil).
    It is already the 2nd World Record he got in 2022 and on the Totals there is another big day for him cause he beat the 6 billion mark, congrats on that too.

    • Already before CoastalCrusher was able to get a 114,2 million score which made him climb from 8th onto the 4th spot (previous PR 98,9mil).

    • And also nikcolin got 87,3 million and climbed 2 spots from 12th onto 10th place (previous PR 76,4mil). With his missing PRs on Sandtorm Shredder/7 (48,5mil), Ridge Riot/8 (19,6mil) and Freeway Fury/9 (141,2mil) he beat the 2,8 billion mark on the Totals.

    Surely almost no one thought LEEK701Xs 79,6 million score on Ridge Riot/8 will get beaten today, but then again, everything is possible. And it is not really a surprise that just Crashfreak went and beat his score. He even beat the over 18 years old 89,7 million World Record from VIRTUALCHAOSFREAK and got 99,1 million! The video was the 2nd oldest one on the "Best Vids" list and overall it was the 3rd oldest WR!
    On the Top-25 Crashfreak climbed from 3rd onto the top spot (previous PR 74,6mil) and it is currently the 12th World Record he is holding! He also retook the best Gamecube 60hz video, which he lost just hours before to LEEK701X (see previous news).
    On the Totals he beat the 7,8 billion mark.

    So still the 100 million mark on Ridge Riot/8 wasn't beaten today, it is the last zone missing a 3 digit score. And just a reminder from back in the days someone on the IGN boards mentioned such a score in 2003. Just check the link below.

    Nevermind what happens the rest of July, the "Crashing-the-date" month is already a full success. Not only cause being the biggest of its kind, but also cause of the scores and PRs which happened already. LEEK701X got today 79,6 million on Ridge Riot/8 and climbed from 7th onto the 2nd spot (previous PR 57,3mil)! He also beat the 3 years and 8 months old best Gamecube 60hz video for that zone, which was a 74,2 million score from Crashfreak before.
    LEEK701X continues his good run he is on since a few weeks and is now only 19 million away to beat the 6 billion mark on the Totals.

    Since June 2004 a place for the best available Crash Mode videos for Burnout 2: Point of Impact exists, but there never was one for the other Crash Modes on Burnout 3: Takedown or Burnout Revenge/Burnout Revenge 360, also, cause there were not many videos around with good scores. This changed within the last 2 years and a few Crashers went and got top scores recorded for almost all junctions. I've collected those videos in a playlist on Youtube, which contains the best score recorded for each junction.     Wave got 175,9 million on Dip Disaster/6 (previous PR 165,9mil) which was only his 2nd PR in the last 6 years.

  • Video Zone 6 - 175,9 million

    • Also nikcolin registered another 3 PRs for this month already, on 2 of those there were missing PRs in the WCR database. On Down Hill Demolition/1 he got 89,6 million, on Rattlesnake Row/5 183,0 million (shown in vids Top-5) and on Dip Disaster/6 he improved to 133,9 million (previous PR 52,2mil).
    On the Totals he beat the 2,5 billion mark still missing PRs for 11 zones.

    There is another news update for today.
    LEEK701X got 381,1 million on Rattlesnake Row/5 and improved his PR from just 2 weeks ago again, but unfortunately it is only a 1 million better PR than last time and he remains on the 3rd spot (previous PR 380,1mil). This was also his 5th 300 million score (381-380-346-321-308) at this zone within just 2 weeks and another time he got very close to the World Record (388,5mil).

    Monster scores update!
    And the "Crashing-the-date" month truly delivers and brings one of the biggest moments in almost 20 years of crashing on Burnout 2 Crash Mode!
    Crashfreak got a unbelievable 902,0 million glitch on Out of Control Tower/3 and beat the 16 years old best video for that zone by 182 million (720,6mil/Brainkiller007). It is also the biggest crash ever recorded on video (of course without sink- or barrier-glitches)! On the Top-25 he climbed from 3rd onto 2nd place (previous PR 679,0mil) and he also beat his own 4 and a half years old best Gamecube 60hz video for that zone (657,3mil).
    On the Totals Crashfreak hit another milestone adding 223 million to his total and jumping over the 7,6 and 7,7 billion mark coming even close to the 7,8 billion mark! With a total of $7,797,572,304 he is now only missing 3 million. Congrats again for that big moment Crashfreak!

    • And this is not all the news for today. CoastalCrusher got 378,7 million on, guess it, Coastal Crush/2. This is another huge score and if you take a look onto the Top-25, another score today which came close to the current World Record! On the top-25 he climbed from 7th onto the 2nd place (previous PR 288,2mil). It is currently his 5th Top-3 spot.
    On the Totals he beat the 6,3 billion mark.

  • Top 25 - Coastal Crush/2

    And we got another PR today on Coastal Crush/2.
    Mkrawnis got 259,0 million and entered the Top-25 on 12th place (previous PR 193,1mil). It was even his last missing zone without a Top-25 spot. And on the Totals he entered now the club of the Crashers which beat the 5 billion mark ($5,005,078,538), being the 9th one to beat that barrier, congrats on that.

    So there are already the first PRs coming in done during the "Crashing-the-date" ritual.
    Nikcolin got a good 261,1 million score on Coastal Crush/2 and climbed from 20th onto the 9th spot (previous PR 216,7mil).
    On the Overall Rankings he climbed from #17 to #16 and on the Totals he beat the 2,2 billion mark, still missing PRs for 13 zones.

  • Top 25 - Coastal Crush/2

    • Assassin Sports improved his PR on Down Hill Demolition/1 from 159,6 million to 166,6 million, but unfortunately didn't move a spot still being ranked on the 22nd position. And right now there is even a very fresh score coming in. On Coastal Crush/2 he got 228,3 million but missed his PR for 0,6 million only.

  • Top 25 - Down Hill Demolition/1

    • And for the "Crashing-the-date" month even 3 more Crashers joined, so right now the number of Crashers taking part is at 11! LarviStar, Taco and Wave are going to participate too. Just for info, LarviStar and Taco (both are going to play on Emulator for that month) don't have a score added on the WCR yet, and are "new" to the website, so welcome. Wave won't be available for the whole month, as he will be off for a week or so. That's it for now.

    Small update on the "Crashing-the-date" event. Nikcolin, Assassins Sports and sparker599 are going to participate too, so this one will be the biggest of its kind with 8 Crashers. Anyone thought the WCR is dead? Well, you were wrong. For the european participants the crash-month will start in about 5 hours. I am sure PRs are going to happen in that month, but beside those, i may write a small resume/update after each 10 zones. So here is the link again, Happy Crashing!

    Next month (in 2 days already) there will be held another "Crashing the date" month. So far participants are LEEK701X, Crashfreak, Mr. Vette, CoastalCrusher and mKrawnis. If you wanna join that month you can go ahead and just add your name on the spreadsheet. You can also use the link below to check back for the results during that month. I do not know at the moment if some streaming is planned.
    The "Crashing the date" month is a very old crashing ritual invented by Drew22werD. Rules are very easy, just crash on the zone the date says, for example on the 1st of the month you crash on Zone 1, on the 2nd Zone 2, and so on. Then just fill in your best score each day on the spreadsheet and that's about it. Good luck to every participant and may it rain a lot of good scores.
