Anthony Burnouts 4th PR this year happened on Downtown Destruction/22. He got 212,9 million with one of those weird trailer glitches and climbed from 7th onto 3rd place (previous PR 150,7mil).
On the Totals he beat the 6,1 billion mark.

Btw we call it "weird trailer glitch" cause on a trailer-hit the truck will sometimes do a not so powerful looking glitch without kicking other vehicles but for some reason the trailer will create a lot of damage. Those kind of glitches are not that exciting and fun to watch like the usual glitch where other vehicles are sent flying.

  • Video Zone 22 - 212,9 million
  • Top 25 - Downtown Destruction/22
  • September 7, 2018 - 09:33:04

It is always nice if you check Youtube for new scores and then you see a new PR from someone who wasn't active for some time.
Timmey064, whose last PR is from almost 1 and a half years ago, got 39,7 million on Pacific Peril/4 and entered the Top-25 on 12th place. He was missing a PR for that zone since the sink-glitch remove.

  • Video Zone 4 - 39,7 million
  • Top 25 - Pacific Peril/4

  • Brainkiller007 got 250,7 million on Downtown Destruction/22 and beat the best Xbox 60hz video from 3 days ago, which was also done by him, by 46 million (204,7mil).

  • Video Zone 22 - 250,7 million
  • Best Xbox 60Hz Vids
  • September 6, 2018 - 09:40:32

    6th World Record in 2018

Crashfreak got 332,4 million on Catch Up Chaos/24 and beat the 16 month old World Record from Brainkiller007 by 0,7 million only (331,7mil). On the Top-25 Crashfreak climbed from 3rd onto the 1st place (previous PR 300,5mil). It was his 3rd WR in 2018 and his 10th PR this year.
He also beat the 4 and a half years old best Gamecube 60hz video for that zone by 109 million (222,5mil/BoneCrasherMania1).

  • Video Zone 24 - 332,4 million
  • Top 25 - Catch Up Chaos/24

  • Brainkiller007 got 204,7 million on Downtown Destruction/22 and beat his own best Xbox 60hz video from 1 year ago by 38 million (166,9mil).

  • Video Zone 22 - 204,7 million
  • Best Xbox 60Hz Vids

  • And MR Benga92 also got a new PR on Catch Up Chaos/24 with 100,6 million.

  • Video Zone 24 - 100,6 million

Donut Hyper Speed or in short DHS

Some maybe already forgot about or missed that find by sparker599 from last year. I will tell more about in the next episode of the Crash Mode protocols. It is a glitch which is triggered by doing donuts right at the start which then will trigger completely ridiculous speeds. Now there has been a discussion again to include them on the default rankings (at the moment seperate rankings like for sink-glitches or non-glitch scores are missing). And the majority of the community is against it to include them.

Yes it is a glitch and some will say why not allow it, if already the flying truck glitch is allowed. But the flying truck glitch is something else. Without, the whole vids and WCR and all that stuff wouldn't have taken this path and wouldn't even exist. It is just a part of the Crash Mode, a big headstone of all, one of the reasons people are still playing this game, it is the crash of the crashes. Like it was just done for the Crash Mode.
And btw if i am right at this topic it can be very hard and annoying to determinate if a crash was done without a flying-truck glitch. Some people will wonder, what is already called a glitchy score. Cause even the tiniest of the tiniest truck-move already won't count for the non-glitch scoreboard. In some cases even with several replays and camera angles it is hard to impossible to tell no truck-move happened. Without a video and good cam angles on the replays you can't create a non-glitch scoreboard. Just an info for all people out there who tell "play a game without glitches".

But back to the topic. 1 zone was found by sparker599 who lets you get very high scores doing DHS. It is Glass Canyon/12 where sparker599 got a score of 139 million using DHS (would be ranked 3rd on the WCR). Now CoastalCrusher found another zone. On Pacific Peril/4 he built the existing strat into a DHS one and got a score of 82,1 million, which beats the current World Record by 11 million.
My main argument to not include DHS into the default rankings is, that it is just a massive changer. It would just be a too heavy cut into how the game is played depsite the fact, that it probably would help on just a handful of zones. I have added a link below with an example video to see, what speeds DHS is capable of.
And as there are no separate rankings at the moment, I will announce it on the news if new good strats are found or a high score was beaten using DHS.

  • Video Zone 4 - 82,1 million
  • DHS example video

  • And to continue on the usual news. A PR which was done in August is still missing. Mkrawnis got 38,9 million on Pacific Peril/4 and climbed from 19th onto 12th place (previous PR 32,1mil). It was his 2nd PR in 2018.
On the Overall Rankings he climbed from #9 to #8.

  • Video Zone 4 - 38,9 million
  • Top 25 - Pacific Peril/4

  • That's it with all missing scores from August.

2 new World Records on Downtown Destruction/22 and the "new" scenario

There was a good progress on the trailer-strat on Zone 22. A not really new scenario makes it possible, to also get the parked bus to spin. And as a bonus outcome, that parked bus will in the most cases get kicked into the other parked bus and kick or spin it too.

On August 13th Brainkiller007 beat his own 166,9 million World Record from over a year ago with 171,3 million. It was also a new best best Xbox 50hz video for that zone, previous best was also done by Brainkiller007 in last years April (162,2mil).

  • Video Zone 22 - 171,3 million

  • On August 24th CostalCrusher beat his PR of 101,1 million and got 116,2 million. On the same day he beat the World Record again and got a huge 287,8 million score with 19,1 million of damage. On the Top-25 he jumped from 18th place onto the top spot. It was his 2nd World Record he ever got (1st one happened on Dangerous Curve/20 btw).
This also beats the best Gamecube 50hz video by Crashfreak from December 2016 (166,4mil).
On the Overall Rankings CoastalCrusher climbed 1 spot and is the new #4 in the World of Crashing. On the Totals he beat the 5,4 billion mark.

  • Video Zone 22 - 116,2 million
  • Video Zone 22 - 287,8 million

  • On August 29th Brainkiller007 beat his PR again and got 274,0 million. It was his 5th PR in 2018 and on the Top-25 he is ranked 2nd with that score. He also beat the best Gamecube 60hz video from BoneCrasherMania1 from almost 5 years ago (162,0mil).
On the Totals Brainkiller007 beat the 6,7 billion mark.

  • Video Zone 22 - 274,0 million

  • There is a more to talk of but this will happen on the next news release.

The 5 billion Total within 1 month

What else happened in August. Crashfreak did Drew22werDs good old "crashing the date" month. A challenge/ritual where you crash the zone the date number says. For example on the 1st of the month you crash on zone 1, on the 2nd on zone 2 and so on.
And he did really outstanding this month getting a lot of good scores and achieved a Total of over 5,1 billion with even 5 new PRs!

On the 1st of the month he beat the best Gamecube 60hz video even 3 times! 1st with a 341,6 million score, then 347,0 and finally 395,5 million. The best video before was over 4 years old and done by BoneCrasherMania1 (253,8mil). Also mentionable on the 347 million score he missed the best damage for that zone by 1,2 million only (31,5mil).

  • Video Zone 1 - 341,6 million
  • Video Zone 1 - 347,0 million
  • Video Zone 1 - 395,5 million

  • Edit: Updating all those scores i lost the overview, there is a mistake. The 347,0 million score on Down Hill Demolition/1 was done on 50hz.

On Pacific Peril/4 he got a new PR with 57,4 million. On the Top-25 he climbed from 4th onto the 3rd spot (previous PR 56,2mil).

  • Video Zone 4 - 57,4 million
  • Top 25 - Pacific Peril/4

  • On Sprint Smash/17 he beat the best Gamecube 50hz video by 4 million getting 213,0 million. The previous best was an almost 3 year old score also done by him (209,2mil).

  • Video Zone 17 - 213,0 million

  • On Criss Cross Crush/18 he got another new PR with 91,9 million. On the Top-25 he climbed from 5th onto 3rd place (Previous PR 79,2mil).

  • Video Zone 18 - 91,9 million
  • Top 25 - Criss Cross Crush/18

  • His 3rd PR he got on Roadblock/19 with 101,7 million. On the Top-25 it was a good jump for him climbing from 10th onto the 2nd spot (previous PR 91,1mil). He also achieved a new highest-damage-ever record for that zone with 7,8 million. And it is only the 2nd score ever over 100 million at this zone!

  • Video Zone 19 - 101,7 million
  • Top 25 - Roadblock/19

  • Another PR happened on the 26th on Cross Traffic Crash/26. He got 137,0 million and climbed from 6th onto the 4th spot (previous PR 117,6mil).

  • Video Zone 26 - 137,0 million
  • Top 25 - Cross Traffic Crash/26

  • And the 5th and last PR was done on Switch Back Shocker/29. He got 142,7 million and on the Top-25 he climbed from 4th onto the 3rd place (previous PR 125,0mil).
He also beat the best Gamecube 50hz video for that zone by 15 million. The previous best was done by Brainkiller007 already 10 years ago (127,0mil).

  • Video Zone 29 - 142,7 million
  • Top 25 - Switch Back Shocker/29

  • You can check all scores he got during this month on the link below and on his Youtube channel.
  • Crash Month - Scores List

  • What else can be said about this crash month. On 3 zones he was close to his PR. On Glass Canyon/12 only 2 million were missing, on Sprint Smash/17 only 8 million and on Dangerous Curve/20 only 3 million. With his new PRs he only has 1 zone left not being placed within the Top-5, which is Sandstorm Shredder/7 with a 6th place.

That's it for now and there will be another news release for scores and PRs from August.

The Crash Mode Protocols - The History of Strats (5)

    Big Finds #5
    Sink-Glitch

1st of all I wanted to mention that i write all of those protocols from my point-of-view, someone else might tell the story a little bit different.

I don't even know the exact number, but there are currently at least a handful of zones where the sink-glitch is working. But all started with Pacific Peril and without that traffic/zone setup there, the sink-glitch probably wouldn't have been discovered. It is a perfect example of a "by accident" find.

Back in late 2003 I didn't have a proper strat for a good truck-glitch-scenario. I was using a Hot Rod "bus-flipping" strat which gave me a top score over 40 million. Maco on Cyberscore had a 55 million score using Supercar. I always wondered how he did that. The best score on XBL was a 61 million score using Custom Roadster.
In summer 2004 someone on the IGN forums accused me of cheating after watching some of my videos with flying-truck-glitches. He seemed so convinced about. At that time it wasn't really clear for me, that flying-truck-glitches are not working on the Ps2 version cause that guy was playing on a Ps2. Some days later that same guy posted a 160 million score on Pacific Peril doing 22 million of damage! His cousin was over and got that score. I almost couldn't believe that massive damage he got. NotYourCarNYC asked him about the strat he was using and we copied it and soon also got scores beyond the 100 million mark.

This strat must have been found by many people by accident. Imagine someone new to the game playing on Pacific Peril, driving fast towards the traffic, missing some cars and in confusion crashing into the trailer of the truck making the car used flying into the tunnel.
In 2006, after seeing a video with a sink-glitch, maco wrote that that was what happened to him on the 55 million score, he just wasn't sure before what exactly happened.

Good PR run from LEEK701X today with 3 Top-25 entries. 1st he got 71,9 million on Cross Traffic Crash/26 entering the Top-25 on 22nd place. Then he got 119,1 million on Switch Back Shocker/29 and took the 6th place (previous PR 81,2mil). And on top of that he got 402,7 million on Down Hill Demolition/1 taking the 2nd spot.
On the Overall Rankings he climbed another 2 spots from #16 to #14. On the Totals he beat the 3,6 billion mark.

  • Video Zone 26 - 71,9 million
  • Top 25 - Cross Traffic Crash/26

  • Video Zone 29 - 119,1 million

4th PR from Crashfreak this year. On Freeway Fury/9 he got 445,7 million, but unfortunately it was only 0,1 million better than his old PR so he remains on 2nd place.
He also beat his own almost 1 year old best Gamecube 60hz vid (445,6mil).

  • Video Zone 9 - 445,7 million
  • Top 25 - Freeway Fury/9
